Welcome to Mrs. Gruca's Language Arts Class!

Welcome! I am so lucky to be involved with such excited students and supportive parents this year. I have many new things planned for the year. I hope that you are ready for some life-learning lessons and great memorable experiences. We are starting "This I Believe" essays this week. I hope that these essays set precedence for the rest of the year--writing should be used a powerful tool to influence thought-provoking discussions and to share meaningful experiences. Please feel free to submit your essay to thisibelieve.org. Your essay may be chosen to be shared on the website, on the radio station, and/or for the published book. There are only three "Gruca rules" for the "This I believe" essay: 1) You must make your essay personal and share a memory within your essay that further explains why you believe in the value that you are describing. 2) You must not use the word "you" in your essay unless using it in dialogue. 3) You can start your essay with "I believe" and/or end it with "This I believe" *As always, feel free to break the "Gruca rules" as long as you are creative!
